Did You Know?

Note about MAC users: There is no free version for MAC. The only Panicware Pop-up stopper product available for MAC users is called Pop-up Zapper and costs $20.

Instructions for Windows Users: 

Go to http://www.panicware.com/product_psfree_download.html to access the download link for the free version of Pop-up Stopper.

Choose the “ Pop-Up Stopper Download” and click “Download”

The file you are downloading is called PopUpStopperFree.exe. 

When the download begins, you will be asked to save the file to a common download folder, or your desktop. Be sure to note where you are downloading the file. The file is very small and should download in less than a minute on a 28.8 speed connection.

Installation

Once the download is complete, open the folder or find the location into which you downloaded the PopUpStopperFree.exe file on your computer. 

1. Make sure you have closed all other programs including browsers and email programs. 
2. Double-click this exe file and the Install Wizard will begin to install Pop-Up Stopper. 
3. You will need to click the Next button to continue installation. 
4. After the installation is complete, you click the Finish button and you are ready to begin Setup!

Set-up explains a few more details about the product, and asks you to choose preferences on how it works and looks and also asks you for an e-mail address to send updates and information. 

After you answer those questions or choose your preferences, the next time you open a web browser, the Pop-Up Stopper will start as well. You can tell it is running if the "white hand" icon is in the system tray at the bottom right of the Windows screen.

The PopUp Stopper will block all pop-up and pop-under screens that attempt to open, unless you hold down the CTRL button to override the stopper. In addition, some pop-ups are not ads, rather a site link to which you wish to be connected. You can access the site by holding down the CTRL key and clicking on the link again. Over a short period of time, Pop-Up Stopper may learn your preferred sites and not block them.

To uninstall the pop-up stopper, click on the START button on the lower left of your screen, got to Settings, Control Panel, double click on the Add/Remove Programs icon, scroll down to Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition and highlight it. Then click the Add/Remove button at the bottom of the screen and follow the directions.
